4/24/22
We caught some nice stripers again today.
Fishing wasn't like we wanted but we read plenty of fish throughout the trip.
The Jamaica will be sailing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday leaving at 7:30AM for striped bass.
Tilefish Report
4/23/22
We had a pretty good catch for our first tile fish trip of the year.
It didn't look good at the get-go early in the morning when we were covered up with dogfish, for the first couple of drifts.
We tried a different area and we end up picking away and at Golden tile, half a dozen fluke, (that had to be released) and, we were pestered by bluefin tuna for a good part of the day.
The Present regulations allow us to keep one, and the rest were either let go or lost.
At times they were 100 ft thick underneath the boat.
We hooked them on the tile rigs, and on jigs.
We do have some tuna trips scheduled in June, July, and August.
Captain Ron from Piscataway had his limit of tile, as did Jose lozano and a few others.
The pool winner was Frank Anaya from Mays landing New Jersey.
This weekend we will be striped bass fishing.

Next weekend we have a tileish trip which is sold out, and then we have another tile trip leaving May 13 and a new date sailing 10PM June 21
May 17th is the opening of sea bass.
We have marathon trips scheduled for the 17th and 18th and then we'll be sailing for sea bass every day at 7:30AM.

Tilefish Report 8/10

We just returned from our Southern canyon tilefish trip and it was a good one!

It started out a little slow in the morning but as the day went on fishing kept getting better.

At one point we had double headers coming over the rail non-stop.

One target We were seeking on this trip was a record breaking blueline tilefish. (The current state record is 23 lb 4 oz)

We thought we had several candidates on one drift when five big Bluelines came over the rail.

The biggest one was caught by Ed Pax from Palmar Pa weighing 24 lb on one scale and 22 on another.

Unfortunately, when we returned to the dock the official weight on the certified scale was 22 lbs. still a great catch.

In addition to Blue line tile and golden tile we also caught some rose fish, and some white hake.

Fishing was so good we've decided to add another Southern canyon tile trip leaving 10PM August 30.

We've also added another offshore tuna trip leaving 11PM Sunday August 29th.

Jamaica will be sailing for blue fish everyday at 7:30AM when we are not offshore.

For further information and our complete schedule go to www.bigjamaica.com. You can also purchase tickets at our website. For further information call 732-528-5014
